In
the framework of the Master of Science programme „Technology
and Resources Management in the Tropics and Subtropics“at
the University of Applied Sciences, Cologne, Germany
a Forest Monitoring (FM) system for a region in Brazil
was be developed by a group of brilliant Master Students
/ Professionals under the supervision of seasoned Professors
and Researchers mostly from the ITT and the BLUMEN Project.
In this Forest Monitoring System important or critical
parameters of the Ecosystem were monitored for the support
of the regional scientists, planners and the decision
makers. Within the project the actual standards of forest
monitoring were reviewed and a Methodology for getting
a fitting FM-System was developed, before the Design
and GIS-Realisation. The project commenced in May 2004
and was completed in February 2005. |
